Ante natal classes covering all aspects of pregnancy & birth. Because the classes are kept small (not more than 5 couples) ,emphasis is placed on individual needs & requirements. All aspects of birth are discussed with the focus being on both natural & caesarean births as well as lessons on hospital stay; how to formulate a birth plan; breastfeeding and care of a new born baby as well as other relevant issues.
The post natal clinic offers personalised assistance from the day your baby is brought home up, until two years of age. Services offered include breast feeding advice, feeding consultations for older babies, sleep routines as well as immunisations.
Specialised services include home visits especially for those mothers who have had a caesarean & cannot drive initially as well as support for those mothers who are suffering from post natal depression or feel that they are just not coping.
Post natal depression is fairly common amongst new mothers & Arlaine is a psychiatric trained nursing sister and is able to assist those mums in need should the situation arise.
Visits are by appointment only and are a one-on-one service to maintain the personal approach.
